The Faculty Senate met on June 7 and considered various topics, including the Conflict of Interest Policy, Summer Scholars Program, nominees to Search Committee for Executive Vice President and Provost, Effort Reporting Draft Policy, and other matters, including an update on the legislative session’s impact on the University.

The Faculty Senate reconvened for the last time this semester on Wednesday, May 9.
The Faculty Senate Technology Committee is seeking applications for the new availability of funds for software for the next fiscal year. The applications must demonstrate innovative uses of software intended for faculty use in pedagogy, research and creative production.
President Milt Glick is challenging faculty and administrators to connect with and inspire students via the Summer Scholar Program. The Faculty Senate is seeking participants.
Upcoming Town Hall Meetings in Reno and Las Vegas will provide employees the opportunity to learn more about President Milt Glick’s ideas for the future of the University. Classified staff employees who attend a Town Hall Meeting should be paid as usual, and should not be asked to take administrative leave for the two-hour session.

The Faculty Senate is hosting a Town Hall meeting with President Glick from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. May 4 in Nightingale Hall.
On March 27 from noon - 1 p.m., the Administrative Faculty Personnel Policy and Procedures Committee will host its spring Brown Bag lunch. The title of this lunch is “Governing Documents and Recent Amendments 101 (for Administrative Faculty).” A live video conference will be held for Las Vegas administrative faculty who wish to participate.
