About Us/Mission

Our Workplace is an online, one-stop shop for news and information that is relevant to employees of the University of Nevada, Reno throughout the state. i.e, you should go away from this site feeling in the loop.

If you don’t, you may complain, offer suggestions, moan and groan or otherwise vociferate to me, Elaine Casey, the editor at ecasey@unr.edu. (Note that I’m also receptive to compliments, positive feedback, a good chinwag. . .)

Mission

Our Workplace is an official publication for the University of Nevada, Reno’s faculty and staff across the state. Its mission is to improve the timeliness and reach of University news, information and events, and to provide opportunities for faculty and staff to communicate with each other about issues and topics that affect the University.

It is also intended to raise greater awareness within our University community of those who are receiving special recognition for their work and contributions.

Our Workplace is also meant to underscore our commitment to our land-grant mission – which is to pursue outstanding teaching and research, and to extend the benefits of both via outreach programs and initiatives across the state.
