USAC is excited to offer teaching opportunities abroad for faculty
The University Study Abroad Consortium (USAC) is seeking University faculty for its 2009-2010 visiting professor program.
Faculty can participate in summer or semester programs in Chile, China, Costa Rica, the Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Ghana, India, Ireland, Italy, Mexico and Spain.
The program aims to ‘internationalize the campus,” said Kelly Corrigan, USAC director of marketing and recruiting.
“We send faculty out to teach on other campuses, build international networks and help build themselves professionally,” she said. “We are looking for faculty to go out teach and then come back to Nevada. We hope they will bring that experience with them.”
Applicants must be full-time faculty members in good standing who will be returning to Nevada following their term abroad. The program is open to all disciplines. The deadline to apply for programs in Summer 2009, Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 is Feb. 8, 2008.
Since 1982, USAC has been helping both University students and faculty gain experience abroad and explore other cultures. The consortium has grown to over 39 programs in 25 different countries.
