Part-time Faculty Leave Accrual and Usage – Converting from Days to Hours

Effective July 1, 2007, annual and sick leave for part-time faculty members will be accrued and tracked on an hourly basis. This provides a more consistent and accurate method of leave accrual and tracking. Because many part-time faculty work varied schedules (different hours on different days) the length of the work day varies. This presents problems for leave keepers and faculty when trying to determine what constitutes a half or full day of leave. This change in calculation does not change the leave benefit in any way.
