New graphics software courses offered at Redfield Campus

Extended Studies at the University presents the Graphics Professional Series this summer introducing the Adobe Creative Suite 3 (CS3) software package.

Courses offer participants an opportunity to build a solid knowledge base and hone existing skills with training in the latest versions of Adobe Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator.

One of the first educational programs in northern Nevada to provide instruction in Adobe CS3 software applications, the Graphics Professional Series offers courses for beginning and experienced graphic artists, Web designers, students and hobbyists for professional advancement and personal enrichment.

Program participants will produce work for portfolio development. Instruction will be conducted on Windows-based PCs.

Courses are held at the University’s Redfield Campus, 18600 Wedge Parkway, Reno. Courses may be taken independently and require no formal admission to the University. A certificate of completion will be awarded upon successful completion of each course.

Beginning Photoshop CS3

    When: June 11, Mon.; June 13, Wed.; and June 18, Mon., 6-9:30 p.m.

    Learn the basic navigation and functions of Adobe Photoshop CS3 and produce beginner work for a portfolio.

Beginning Flash CS3

    When: June 19, Tues.; June 21, Thurs.; and June 26, Tues., 6-9:30 p.m.
    Where: Redfield Campus, 18600 Wedge Parkway, Reno
    Fee: $399, includes course materials
    Learn the basic navigation and functions of Adobe Flash CS3 and produce beginner work for a portfolio.

Intensive Photoshop CS3

    When: June 20, Wed.; June 25, Mon.; and June 27, Wed., 6-9:30 p.m.
    Where: Redfield Campus, 18600 Wedge Parkway, Reno
    Fee: $399, includes course materials
    Prereq.: Working knowledge of Photoshop CS3
    Learn more advanced functions of Adobe Photoshop CS3 and how to apply them as a professional artist to produce graphic art for a portfolio.

Basic Animation in Flash CS3

    When: July 9, Mon.; July 11, Wed.; July 16, Mon.; and July 18, Wed., 6-9:30 p.m.

    Prereq.: Working knowledge of Flash CS3
    Learn basic animation theory and how it applies to Adobe Flash CS3 to produce character animation.

Introduction to Dreamweaver CS3
