Urgent request for Tahoe research
Special message from Wally Miller, associate director for research, Academy for the Environment:
Interested Tahoe Faculty:
The Academy for the Environment is in the process of preparing a pamphlet highlighting University research and outreach contributions pertinent to the Tahoe Basin and vicinity over the last 10 years (1997-2007).
Our intent is to have this information in published form by the 10 Year Federal Event Anniversary on Aug. 1. At this point, we are primarily interested in published works, for which the attached template
is an information format guide.
Please provide all the information requested under each category.
The “Management Implications” component is particularly important. You may include the reference information for any and all publications you wish to showcase as long as it pertains to the Tahoe Basin, the Lake, and surrounding Sierran systems, and was published over the last 10 years, is in press, or has been accepted for publication.
The timeline is obviously quite short, so please start putting your information together right now. You may forward your information in electronic form to me at wilymalr@cabnr.unr.edu.
We will have a grad assistant on board by the first of June to assist with this effort. Please get your materials to us as soon as possible and we won’t have to “hound” you.
If you know of other faculty that have done research in the Basin but are not on our contact list, please have them contact Amber Gallop at (775) 784-8262. We want to showcase as much as we can.
Thank you for your support in this regard. It is a most important effort.
Sincerely,
Wally Miller
