Poetry reading and book signing at Sundance Bookstore tonight, April 19

English faculty Ann Keniston and David Higginbotham will read from and discuss their books at 6:30 p.m. tonight, April 19, Sundance Bookstore, 1155 W. 4th Street, No 106, in Reno.

Human Gestures
The Caution of Human Gestures

Keniston, an assistant professor, will discuss The Caution of Human Gestures , (2005, Wordtech Communications).

“Ann Keniston had found a voice at once piercing and unflinchingly objective,” said award-winning poet Gail Mazur.

Twice a recipient of the Academy of American Poets Prize, Keniston is also a scholar of contemporary American poetry, with articles published in Contemporary Literature and several anthologies. She teaches English and creative writing.

Magicians
God Bless the Magicians,

Higginbotham, a lecturer and writing specialist, will read from God Bless the Magicians (2007, WordTech Communications).

Ranging from darkly absurd to breathtakingly intimate, the poems in Higginbotham’s God Bless the Magicians announce the arrival of a fearless and accomplished voice.

Higginbotham received a Master in Fine arts in poetry from Georgia State University and a Ph.D. from Florida State University.
