In the last three years, mroe than 75 University employees developed back pain while working. Most occupational back pain is related to one or more of the following factors: Force, repetition, postural issues or stress.
Lawlor Events Center will be transformed into a European-style village where middle and high school French, Spanish, German and Italian language students will immerse themselves in new cultures and languages. The Polyglot Village welcomes students from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., March 31.

Andy Socha a supply assistant in the Receiving Department, and Jennifer Prager an administrative assistant in the Psychology Department, have won the Staff Employees’ Council March Employee of the Month Awards.
On March 27 from noon - 1 p.m., the Administrative Faculty Personnel Policy and Procedures Committee will host its spring Brown Bag lunch. The title of this lunch is “Governing Documents and Recent Amendments 101 (for Administrative Faculty).” A live video conference will be held for Las Vegas administrative faculty who wish to participate.
Richelle O’ Driscoll, the University’s first associate dean for workforce development, is helping connect the University’s resources with the state’s needs to bridge the gap.
From the beginning of his hour-long presentation to representatives of the Staff Employees Council on Tuesday in the Reynolds School of Journalism, University President Milt Glick eschewed his Blackberry almost entirely, kept the slides in his PowerPoint presentation to a minimum, and made more than a few veiled references to his favorite cottage industry – the 3-inch by 4-inch index card business.
On Friday, March 30, Rod Stewart will be marking his triumphant return to rock & roll at Lawlor Events Center.
