Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology faculty members Peter Kyle House, Craig M. dePolo, John Bell and Burton Slemmons received publication awards in 2006. The American Water Resources Association and the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists awarded the bureau faculty for their efforts in writing exceptional papers.

T’ai Chi is a no-impact, slow and continuous exercise that has been described as “swimming in air” or “meditation in movement.” Campus Recreation and Wellness is offering a T’ai Chi class on Saturday, March 31 in Lombardi Recreation Building Room 224-B. The cost is $20 per person.

During this time of year many of my students often ask me, is it OK to exercise when sick? Many of them seem to think that they can sweat out a cold or flu by doing vigorous workouts. This misinformation can lead to a serious setback and worsening conditions.
