Lemelson Literacy Conference, March 24
Cindy Brock, associate professor for educational specialties in the College of Education, is organizing the Lemelson Literacy Conference, March 24, in the William Raggio Building.
The conference will address strategic classroom applications for comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, word study, teacher action research, emergent literacy, race and diversity, and thematic instruction.
Taffy Raphael from the University of Illinois at Chicago; Kathryn Au, literacy researcher and CEO of SchoolRise; and Diane Barone, University of Nevada, Reno College of Education, will deliver keynote addresses.
Washoe County School District teachers who are participating in the Lemelson Education and Assistance Program will present the breakout sessions.
