New 2006-2007 campus maps are now available. If you’ve ordered University stationery, the confirmation email might have been shunted into your junk email folder.
Once again, the University showed great success in its annual food drive. It collected 25.5 barrels, which is five more than last year. The barrels were donated to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada and Evelyn Mount’s Community Food Drive to be distributed to struggling families in the Reno-Sparks community.

There has been a lot of buzz in courts and media concerning Affirmative Action. Most people have two reactions when hearing the term AA. It is either outright revulsion or one of thankfulness in regard to social justice.
Although the correlation between writing and thinking is well-documented, many instructors hesitate to assign research papers, reflective essays, reaction papers, journals, blogs, wikis, or online discussion threads because of the burden of grading.
Few students roamed the University campus on the brisk morning of Friday, Jan. 12, but the Overlook was having a busy day. Between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., breakfast was on the house at the Overlook for “Customer Appreciation Day.”

The Staff Employees’ Council decided to consider drafting a formal request to Human Resources to amend the current vacation/sick leave policies, allowing annual leave to be converted to sick leave should an employee suffer an accident or become ill during scheduled vacation time.
