Book Nook plans silent auction, Dec. 12-14
From the 12th to the 14th of December, you are invited to preview and bid on some unusual books that were donated to the Book Nook, Getchell Library’s used bookstore. The sale will help fund Book Nook expenses.
Just to whet your appetite, here are a few of the titles being auctioned off:
- The Dynastic Arts of the Kushans by John M. Rosenfield, University of California Press, 1967
- Mustang: Wild Spirit of the West by Marguerite Henry (signed), Rand McNally & Company, 1966
- The Works of Mark Twain: What is Man? and other Philosophical Writings, University of California Press, 1973
- Mark Twain’s Mysterious Stranger Manuscripts, University of California Press, 1969
- Claude Lorrain: the Drawings by Marcel Roethlisberger, University of California Press, 1968
The silent auction will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of that week. On Friday, Dec. 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., winners can come in to claim and pay for their book(s). Clair Wojcik, Book Nook coordinator, will send emails to the winners to alert them on Friday morning.
