Old Mackay Stadium packed to capacity for the 1927 homecoming game vs. St. Mary’s. A cold quiet morning on campus in the winter of 1944. These historical images and thousands more can be found in the photograph collections of the University Archives.

From its earliest days in the 1880s with Morrill Hall standing alone on the hill to the current construction projects, a visual history of the life of the University is preserved in images of buildings and campus scenes, students and faculty, sporting events, classroom scenes, and university activities and events.

In formats from glass-plate negatives to digital images, they are available to the campus community for use in publications, promotional materials and exhibits or for display.

To locate a specific photograph or just browse the collection, online access is available through a searchable database of image descriptions and a selection of campus images. Photographic prints or digital reproductions are available.

If you are looking for a photograph of a particular individual, building, event, or time period, or have University-related images that may be suitable for transfer to the archives, please stop by the Special Collections Department on the 2nd floor of Getchell Library or contact Jim Bantin, University Archivist at (775) 784-6500 ext. 336 or jbantin@unr.edu.
