Coake wins PEN/Robert Bingham Fellowship for Writers

Christopher Coake, assistant professor of English, is the winner of the 2006 PEN/Robert Bingham Fellowship for Writers. Awarded by PEN American, the fellowship “honors an exceptionally talented fiction writer whose debut work—a novel or collection of short stories published in 2005—represents distinguished literary achievement and suggests great promise.”

Dr. Michelle Thaller makes a living doing just that as manager of education and public outreach for NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope. Thaller will be on campus Friday, Oct. 20 as part of the Department of Physics’ colloquium series. Her presentation will be from 4-5 p.m. in the William Raggio Building (Education Building) Room 2030.
