Daniel Goodenberger, M.D., FACP., FACCP recently joined the University of Nevada School of Medicine as chair of the Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Goodenberger leads a department that currently provides patient care to approximately 3,500 patients in the hospital at UMC and 20,000 office visits annually.

Larry Walters, associate professor of theatre, was elected May 1 to chair the City of Reno Arts and Culture Commission. He has already served four years on the commission. His one-year term began July 1.

The University will host a Proposition 7: Marijuana Forum, Tuesday Oct. 24 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., in the William Raggio Building Room 2030.
Guest speakers from the prevention, treatment, medical and legal fields will provide information to create an educated discussion on Proposition 7: The legalization of marijuana.

Tuesday, October 31, in the Jot Travis Student Union Pine Lounge all University staff members are invited to talk to Dr. John Chappel about Proposition 7: the marijuana initiative. Dr. Chappel will be present to answer any medical questions regarding Marijuana’s effects on the body and mind. The forum is a great opportunity to get the health answers you are looking for before you vote.

On the third Tuesday of each month members of the Staff Employees’ Council meet to discuss classified employees’ concerns, suggestions, questions or complaints. All staff is welcome at these meetings which usually include invited guest speakers, speaking on a topic of current interest to classified employees. This month, our speaker was President Glick.
