Marie Gibson, instructor for the Nevada Small Business Development Center, in the College of Business Administration has recently been selected by Western Nevada Community College as the recipient for the “Outstanding Adjunct Faculty of the Year.” Marie earned both her MBA in 1994 and her MS in Range Management (1988) from the University of Nevada, Reno. Marie started teaching for WNCC four years ago in the Business and Technology Department. She has continued to teach semester-long classes in business, management and accounting as well as becoming a WNCC workforce development workshop facilitator in the area of human resource management, customer service, team building, conflict resolution, employee motivation, and her favorite, entrepreneurship.

Marie was surprised and honored to be selected from 290 adjunct faculty members. “I am extremely honored to be selected as the Outstanding Adjunct Faculty for the year,” she said.

Gary Haynes, professor of anthropology, in May was presented the Dean’s Award of the College of Liberal Arts for Outstanding Teacher.
