All too often, seemingly straightforward history research can frustrate both novice and sophisticated scholars when local or regional information is needed. The new Newspaper Archive database includes eight full-text Reno newspapers with varying coverage from 1867 to 1977.
Accomplishments: Sept. 22, 2006
Nancy McBride (’06 Counseling & Educational Psychology) an LOA, achieved diplomate status as a school neuropsychologist through the American Board of School Neuropsychologists. She is the only person in the state of Nevada with this distinction.
Hoyt wins Employee of the Year Award
Michelle Hoyt, who worked in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures as an administrative assistant IV and operations manager, received the 2006 Classified Employee of the Year Award May 17.
Novsek joins Wolf Pack basketball coaching staff
Doug Novsek, coming from the University of Nebraska, will join the Wolf Pack men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach, Nevada head coach Mark Fox announced recently.
Advocates and Allies 2006 Film Series
The Advocates and Allies 2006 LGTB Film series begins Oct. 11. Each presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. With the exception of the lecture, “Gender Bending in the Movies,” the films will begin at 7:00 p.m.
